10 Reasons To Wake Up Earlier

I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.”
  1. Organize/plan your day: One of the best things of waking up early for me is being able to just sit down, grab my agenda and plan my day. See if I have something important that day and do a to-do list.
  2. Medidate/Do Yoga: I'm trying to do yoga at list a few minutes per day because for three years now I've been having the most irritating pain in my neck, shoulders and sciatica and it feels amazing to do it in the morning! Also medidate is super important. I take maybe 5 minutes when I wake up to just breathe, relax and have a clear mind to start a new day.
  3. Exercise: I exercise in the afternoon when I'm in school but in summer I feel so good when I start my day swimming or running!
  4. Me Time: Sometimes when we came back to our houses or we wake up late we have to do so many things and we can't relax and just have a little me time. I love to sit in the mornings and drink tea while reading a book or just do something that I like!
  5. Breakfast: The best part about mornings, right? haha. I used to hate having breakfast because it made me feel really sick after eating it. But I realize that if I have breakfast after a while I woke up I'm not sick after it. I love to eat some fruits or a yogurt in the mornings to have a lot of energy for the day
  6. Sunrise: Well, you probably know by now how much I love sunsets, but a sunrise is always as beatiful as the sunset is. Seeing the sun rise and the start of a new day has something magical in it and I love to go outside and see the beatiful colours on the sky.
  7. Quietude: I live with my siblings and parents so there's always a noise in the house. When I wake up before everyone does I can have that silence and peace that I love. Not that I hate when there's noise haha but in the mornings is nice to be with yourself and that silence for a little while. (Although I'll probably be listening to music in that time)
  8. Writing in your journal: My journal is literally a mess. You can find poems, extracts for my book to things that happened to me the last days. But something I love to do in the mornings is write down the things I'm grateful for, like my family, friends, having a beatiful house, the possibility to study and those kind of things. Gratitude in the mornings is the best and be aware of these little things (that are not that little) is so good for yourself, and everybody else that is in your life.
  9. Earn better grades: So, I read in forbes that in a Texas University study, college students that identified themselves as "morning people" earned better grades that the ones who were "night owls". I find it very interesting because now that I think of it I know that I wasn't at my 100% when I stayed up late.
  10. Feel more productive: I know, I know, you probably read this in this kind of posts like a million times but for me is true! If it's 9 am and I know that I accomplished a lot of things that I have/want to do by that time I feel really good with myself!
So, what are your reasons for waking up early?

  1. Organizar/planear tu día: Una de las mejores cosas sobre despertarse temprano para mi es poder sentarme, agarrar mi agenda y ver si tengo que hacer algo ese día y hacer mis pequeñas para-hacer listas del día y ir tachándolas (Soy una obsesiva de las listas esas jaja)
  2. Meditar/Hacer Yoga: En este ultimo tiempo estuve tratando de hacer un poco mas de yoga porque hace unos tres años que tengo un dolor insoportable en toda mi espalda y esta ayudando bastante. También, apenas me despierto y antes de empezar el día me gusta dedicar al menos 5 minutos a simplemente meditar, respirar, relajarme y tener la mente clara para empezar el día
  3. Ejercicio: Si estoy en tiempo de escuela hago ejercicio a la tarde porque a la mañana no puedo porque tendría que despertarme como a las 4 de la mañana jaja, pero en el verano me encanta empezar el día nadando o corriendo. Me siento super bien después de hacerlo!
  4. Tiempo para mi: Muchas veces cuando nos quedamos dormidos o volvemos a la tarde a nuestras casas tenemos que hacer mil cosas y no encontramos el tiempo para relajarnos y hacer cosas que nos gustan. Por eso amo despertarme un rato antes en la mañana y tener un rato para sentarme y tomar un te mientras leo algún libro
  5. Desayuno: La mejor parte de las mañanas no? jaja. Solia odiar desayunar porque me hacia sentir super enferma después de un rato pero descubrí que si me levanto y espero un rato a comer algo no me siento mal después! Me encanta armarme un desayuno lindo con frutas o algún yogurt y tener mucha energía para el día.
  6. Amanecer: Probablemente ya sepan la obsesión que tengo con los atardeceres, pero un amanecer es tan especial y lindo como un atardecer. Ver el comienzo de un nuevo día tiene algo mágico y me encanta salir a mi patio y poder ver los hermosos colores del cielo.
  7. Tranquilidad: No se ustedes, pero yo vivo con mis hermanos y mis papas y siempre hay algún ruido en la casa. Cuando me despierto antes que los demás puedo tener ese silencio y paz que amo. No es que me moleste que haya ruido, pero en las mañanas es lindo tener un poco de silencio y estar con vos mismo por un rato. (Aunque lo mas probable es que este escuchando música)
  8. Escribir en tu diario: Mi diario es literalmente un lió. Podes encontrar poemas, ideas que se me vienen a la cabeza, extractos de mi libro, y cosas que me pasaron en los últimos días. Pero algo que amo hacer en especial a la mañana es dedicarme unos minutos a escribir porque estoy agradecida ese día, y son las cosas mas simples (que en realidad no son simples) como tener una familia, amigos, un techo y una casa hermosa, poder estudiar, etc. Ser agradecido y consciente de esas cosas nos hace mejor personas y crea un mejor entorno para vos y todos los que te rodean
  9. Tener buenas notas: Leí en una nota en forbes que en la universidad de texas hicieron una especie de estudio y vieron que la gente que se despertaba temprano tenia mejor notas que los que se quedaban despiertos hasta tarde. Y me di cuenta que eso es verdad al menos en mi caso porque siempre que me quedaba hasta tarde estudiando al otro día no rendía de la misma manera que si tenia una buena noche de sueño.
  10. Sentirse mas productivo: Lo se, lo se, probablemente leyeron esto unas mil millones de veces en posts de este tipo pero es verdad! Cuando son las nueve de la mañana y veo que hice varias de las cosas que tenia para ese día me siento super productiva y bien conmigo misma!

  2. Hola Pau! Coincido totalmente, yo me levanto temprano para sacar a pasear a mis perros y después desayuno y leo un rato antes de irme a trabajar, y la verdad que esta buenísimo tener tiempo para una misma y un poco de tranquilidad antes de arrancar el día laboral.
    Me re llamó la atención lo de hacer Yoga, yo tengo varios dolores de la espalda que se mezclan con migrañas y lo sufro un montón. Tendría que intentar hacerlo a ver que onda!

  5. i have been a morning person all my life. i just love to get my work out in in the early hours and start my day quite early in general. i'm way more productive in the morning.

  6. You're killing me, Pau! I love to sleep. I'm always looking forward to days I don't have class and can sleep until late. But I do totally agree with 5 and 10. I wish I could be a morning person!

  7. All of the reasons on this list are seriously so true! I love the feeling of being relaxed and not stressed out and hurried in the morning and being able to use the time for morning yoga, breakfast, and some me time. I should also really try to start using this time to plan my day as well!

  10. Love this list! Watching sunrises, being productive and doing to do lists in the mornings is the best reasons to get up earlier! I myself am more morning person and like to wake up on an earlier note :)

  11. I'm a morning person too! Feels more productive and could easily focus on completing the major tasks easily. Breakfast is also the best part of waking up haha! Agreed! For some reason, waking up late gives me nerves. Feels like the day is half over and nothing's done eventhough it's just 10am in the morning. x

    Even though sleep in is kind of nice too sometimes :P
    I like to get up and do yoga and make a bit
    luxurious breakfast after it! Interesting fact about
    the better grades for early folks than the night owls o:
